The Lake House operates a completely non-smoking policy. If guests smoke in their rooms, the Lake House may charge up to 1 night's accommodation as a penalty.

Lake House combines the comfort of a chic Lake House with the warmth of a country guest house. Each of the 12 bedrooms are decorated and fitted to the highest standards. King-size, twin or family, they are all en suite. You¹ll find large, modern TVs with DVD players so you can make the most of our up-to-date DVD library. There are CD players and tea/coffee making facilities too. Young children (and even the big kids) can borrow our PlayStation 2, free of charge.
Classic rooms are comfortable and offer king-size double beds, twin and family accommodation. These rooms have a country feel, taking on the character of the house.
Lake view superior rooms are larger, with fantastic views over Lake Windermere and the Langdale pikes beyond. Rooms have king-size beds.
Lake view four-poster rooms are beautiful, with breathtaking views of Lake Windermere and the Langdale Pikes beyond. Each has king-size four-poster beds.
There is one fully converted disabled room on the ground floor that meets ETC accessibility for all criteria and other ground floor rooms with good access.

Ambleside is right in the heart of the English Lake District, situated at the northern tip of Windermere, England's longest lake. Whilst in Ambleside, why not explore some of the many shops, or visit Bridge House, a National Trust property and probably one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District? A region made famous by poets such as William Wordsworth, the English Lake District boasts spectacular scenery which can be enjoyed all year round, and a number of excellent and award-winning tourist attractions, including lake cruises on Windermere from Waterhead Bay.
